Using the carpet for its intended purpose allows us to see the time in which different materials wear. Two natural materials are used together, lighter gray is linen and darker gray is woollen yarn. The woollen yarn with a strong twist is a very durable carpet material, but linen is quite sensitive and will soon be showing the beauty of wearing with time.
The ornamental pattern surface is inspired by different traditional Estonian patterns of mittens, belts etc. Geometric sign symbols are like an ornamental coded secret language connecting different countries and time periods. Similar geometric structures, elements and sign fields can be found in cultures very far from each other in terms of time and geography. This was pointed out by an Estonian artist and art guru Tõnis Vint, hence the hint to him in the title of this work.
